Do you have a great #mission and #vision statement and yet your organization, ministry, or life is still not hitting the goals and dreams you aspire to reach? Perhaps you missing something. Perhaps you need to find and define your #valuesystem.
Values are like guard rails in your life and business that help you navigate the twist and turns that often come your way. By having a pre-set value system in place, when tough situations come your way, you will know what you will and won't do. You will know what is and isn't expected of each person on your team and organization. The best thing about having a written out value system is that every person in your organization will have a shared agreement about how they will work and interact with each other, no matter the situation. Clearly stated values create a great sense of unity in all aspects of life and business.
Take a moment and hear some I'll practical tips, and steps so that you can nail down what you truly #VALUE and how it can help your mission and vision.
FOUR STARTER QUESTIONS TO ASK ABOUT VALUES:
1. WHAT DO OTHERS VALE?
Before you get to your values, you must pause and consider what your customers may value in regards to whatever product you offer, or industry you are in.
2. WHAT DO I OR MY ORGANIZATION SAY WE VALUE?
Often what we say we value is not really what we value. Often spoke values are simply wishful thinking and is not valued by what your actions reflect and show. Pause and compare spoken to un-spoken values.
3. WHAT DO MY WORDS AND ACTIONS SHOW I VALUE?
To answer this question explore what your words and actions reveal are your actual values. Often there are spoken and unspoken values that conflict with each other and must be sorted out.
ACTION:
Compare the first three list created by the questions. Look for common themes, evaluate them, based on what will help you reach your goals?
4. BASED ON EXPLORATION of the first three questions and review, what should your values be to reach your goals and dreams? Create an actual list, with a brief description of how each value will be lived out in your context.
KEY POINT -
Make sure your values are worth dying and fighting for.
What things will you guard, protect, and expect no matter what of yourself and others on your team or in your organization?
