5 Keys to creating a lifestyle of networking

Updated: Aug 26, 2023

#Networking is not a new thing or concept, and yet how we network has radically changed in the last decade. Realistically, networking will continue to change as technology evolves, and therefore we must change with it. Most leaders, public figures, and speakers know that they need to network to expand their reach and influence. Yet far too many do not know how to do it effectively, or even care to do it. Over my 25 years as a motivational speaker, broadcaster, and leader I have had to learn how to network and adapt with the times. With my recent move to #Denver, #Colorado I have had to focus on networking. So today, I want to share 5 Keys to creating a lifestyle of networking, but create a lifestyle that helps you network more effectively and naturally.

One thing to remember about networking, it's all about RELATIONSHIPS. Those that experience the greatest success in networking know that it's not just a numbers game, it's about taking the time to develop a real relationship. A relationship that benefits all people involved in the relationship circle. The "payoff" of networking comes with focused time, energy, and intentionality...just like any relationship does.

One of the keys, I mention in my coaching video is, LISTEN TO OTHERS. Do not make your networking efforts one-sided, rather really listen to the needs, dreams, desires, and goals of the other person. If networking is simply all about you, the other person will see through your selfish intentions quickly. Most often, the other person will shut down the "relationship", ignore you, or even block you on social media sites.

Be authentic as you network.
